Oh how I love Stephen King. I’ve read every one of his books, to date, and I think they just keep getting better and better.
I posted previously about the fact that I received a signed copy of End of Watch from a speaking event he did through Word Bookstore in Jersey City. I was crushed when I couldn’t attend to hear him speak, but my Grandmother passed away and I rushed down to Florida for her funeral. It was a pretty heartbreaking time overall.
So, as you may have heard, there’s a new trailer for the remake of the movie IT and its really scary. Apparently the time period has shifted to the 80’s, rather than the 50’s, so I anticipate it having almost a Stranger Things feel. Give me a throwback like Stranger Things or Penny Dreadful, and I’m hooked. Set it in 2000 or later, and I’ll probably pass. I think that’s likely why I enjoy old Stephen King movies more now as an adult.
If you’re easily scared, or scared of clowns, you probably shouldn’t press play on the below trailer. Stephen King movies have been a mixed bag over the years. Carrie was good, The Green Mile was excellent, and who can forget Stand by Me. It’s a classic. I think The Shining and Shawshank Redemption are genuinely some of my favorite movies of all time.
So, we’ll see how this one goes. I have a feeling it’s going to be genuinely terrifying.
