Hip-Hop Dance Class: This is one of my top 5 favorite classes.

My Biggest Challenge: Footwear. I can’t really wear my typical gym sneakers because they’re not meant for dance. This week I’m trying my Converse slip-ons. Most people seem to wear Nike Dunks.

Full Disclosure: I’m drinking part of an iced coffee before class. I’m one of those lunatics who can have coffee at night without issues sleeping, and today I definitely need a pick-me-up.

Side note: I’m also taking an abs class.

Results: The class was AMAZING!!! I think the flat sneakers helped, although I should definitely put an insole in them because I didn’t have enough support for my arch. Either way, still better than my typical Reebok workout kicks. I think this may have been the best Hip-Hop class I’ve ever taken, TBH. I also think that wearing clothes appropriate to the type of class I’m taking makes me feel like I’m more involved. For example, I wore drop-crotch sweats and a cut-up old-school Knicks t-shirt from Urban Outfitters. So much of taking a dance class is “playing the part” IMO, that I think this just added to my overall success. I will definitely be taking this class every week!
